Can you undo a bulk edit or CSV import in Shopify?
Shopify's help center describes no undo for a saved bulk edit or a product import: an import can't be cancelled once it begins, and you can't view a history of past imports. Keep a backup of your product data (an export) before a big change, and check your store's activity log to review recent changes.
Before a big change
- Export the products you are about to change, and keep the file. It is your way back.
- Try the change on a few products first.
- For a CSV import, include only the columns you want to change: a blank cell in an included column overwrites the value.
If a change went wrong
- Check your store's activity log to see what changed recently.
- Find the old values in the export you made before the change.
- Put them back: in the bulk editor for a few products, or by importing the backup file with Overwrite products with matching handles selected.
Edits you can undo in one click
Lever saves every value it changes before it changes it. Each edit has an Undo button that puts the old values back. If someone changed a value again after the edit, Lever leaves that value as it is and tells you, so an undo never overwrites newer work. Tags are merged: the tags the edit added are removed, and tags added since are kept.
